The prospect of a trade revival at Marseilles has won fresh impetus with Boluda's transformation of a bankrupt repair yard into a major facility flowing with orders. Despite labour disruption in February, the yard's slots are now full until January 2008 and UNB is gradually creating new jobs, said Ingrid Sanchez, director of Union Naval de Marseille (UNB). Since Boluda's acquisition of the yard in September 2006, local unions have accepted the greater use of subcontracted workers from several European countries, in return for wage increases.
