摘要

Imperious rule by Bow Mariner's Greek officers produced a climate of fear in which deadly mistakes went unchallenged by the poorly trained Filipino crew - and cost the lives of 21 of the ship's 27 seafarers. That was the key conclusion (Fairplay Daily News, 3 January) of a US Coast Guard inquiry into the 28 February explosion that sank the Ceres Hellenic Enterprises-operated chemical tanker off the coast of Virginia last year, investigation chief Jerry Crooks told Fairplay.
