The VLCC market was a story of two hemispheres at the beginning of this Fairplay cycle. Middle East voyages to East Asia, possibly as a result of the forthcoming Chinese New Year, last week gained strength by the day. In contrast, movements in the Atlantic basin weakened until they levelled off at about W100 and then slowly firmed again.
