It's been a busy week in the newbuildings sector, following last week's SMM exhibition in Hamburg. The Scandinavians had an eventful week. Finnish cruise ferry company Viking Line rejected its second option for a 36,000gt ro-pax ferry at Aker Yards in Finland. Viking originally signed an order for a ro-pax vessel with a 2,500-passenger/1,000lm capacity with Aker Yards in November 2005; the contract included an option for two similar vessels.
