With dry cargo rates picking up in all size sectors during the previous week, there is finally a suggestion that sale and purchase in the dry sector is also starting to come back into fashion. Only three weeks ago, Panamax owners were finding it hard to fix Pacific round trips at $8,000 per day, but now they are achieving levels in excess of $20,000/day, while Capesize owners have seen rises of about 20% during last week on Pacific rounds and 10% for Atlantic round trips.
