In the past two years, Irish Sea ferry operator NorseMerchant Ferries has gone from success to almost total failure. Now success is nearing again. Unfortunate financial decisions brought about its downfall and near-disappearance, as the company went into administration two years ago. Then followed some asset sales and an innovative recovery, which included strong support from US-based bondholders who ended up owning the company.
