News That the High Court in New Zealand has ordered a former director of South Pacific Shipping (SPS) to pay the company's liquidators NZ$7M for'Yeckless trading" has taken the country's shipping industry by surprise. More shocked than surprised must surely be the director in question, Klaus Lower, who was declared personally responsible for NZ$7M ($4.8M) of SPS's debts and ordered to pay this sum - thought to be a record award of its kind -to liquidators at PricewaterhouseCoopers.
