Capesize rates are heading upwards in the Atlantic, as good demand on the trip charter for front-haul iron ore business is eating into available tonnage. At the end of last week, a 170,000 dwt iron ore vessel built in the late 1990s reportedly achieved $76,000 daily for delivery in Europe, with a trip to East Asia via Brazil.
