Last year failed to produce a turn for the better for the battered marine underwriting business as a streak of major accidents shook the market in the final quarter. Tore Forsmo, MD of the marine underwriters' association Cefor in Oslo, feels that attempts to prevent the repetition of such large losses in the future might benefit from a stronger focus on the ISM Code.
