The Indian Coast Guard is to hold joint exercises with its Japanese counterpart off the Indian coast this week. The drill will cover all aspects of anti-piracy operations, including the rescue of crew attacked by pirates. Two Indian patrol vessels and an aircraft will take part in the exercises, with one patrol ship and two aircraft from the Japanese Coast Guard. Japan plans similar exercises with its Malaysian opposite number on November 15.
