Practical training for the management and safe removal of victims involved in a collapsed structure is one of the most difficult tasks for any rescue organisation to undertake. To integrate worthwhile training into an already intense rescue course needs careful planning Finding a suitable area for practical training and the background theoretical knowledge is quite a challenge. As a rescue trainer my first task is to address the command and control function, aimed at officers and rescue team leaders. This aspect can be approached using table top exercises.
