Fuel prices are at record levels, demand for auxiliary power units (APU) is increasing and suppliers are expanding their product offerings. How do you decide what unit is best for your operation? First, examine your fleet's operating environment and make a list of product attributes needed to meet your operating requirements. Keep in mind that requirements differ by application. After identifying your requirements, research products on the market and list the APUs that meet your specifications. Next, use financial analysis to help determine which product offers the highest rate of return on investment.
