US authorities have granted 180min extended twin-engined operations (ETOPS) to the Airbus A350. The Federal Aviation Administration's approval comes just over three months after the type was cleared for ETOPS up to 370min in Europe. In a type certificate data sheet dated 30 January, the FAA says that the A350's reliability and performance has been "found suitable" for 180min maximum diversion time ETOPS.
