Curiosity about the project has been high because, unlike a twin-engine jet, there are many possible configurations for a single-engine jet. And, I can't think of any civilian single-engine jet ever to make it through certification and into production, so there is no established norm for the type. Military airplane designers around the world have created dozens of single-engine jet fighter designs over the decades, but most of the design features and goals of a fighter do not transfer well to a personal jet. The field is wide open and the two designs so far revealed for the Diamond D-Jet and Piper-Tet have taken very different approaches.
