King Schools takes a new approach with its Internet-based flight instructor renewal course. Rather than strictly teaching subject matter, the course helps instructors become better educators by focusing on how to teach important components of flight training that FIRCs typically don't include. The FIRC covers general topics, such as regulatory requirements and airspace. But other components of the course cover topics designed to help instructors keep their students out of trouble by teaching risk management and how to handle icing conditions.
