The solar impulse team likely breathed a sigh of relief after the all-solar-powered HB-SIA landed at the John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York, completing its ambitious mission named Across America. On the final leg, a sizable tear appeared in the skin underneath the left wing of the airplane, causing the pilot, Andre Borschberg, co-founder and CEO of Solar Impulse, to consider bailing out.
