Chances are, if you're reading this, you're probably well beyond the age to be contemplating potential college choices for next fall year. According to what I know about Flying's demographics, the only fraternity you might be pledging next year (if you're not already a member) is Alpha Alpha Rho Phi (that's AARP). So why should you care a hoot about the importance of colleges tliat specialize in aviation programs? We "mature" aviators do need to be concerned with the next generation of professionals, and take every opportunity to steer likely candidates in the right direction. And aviation-specific colleges and universities can be an ideal crucible for forging together the three elements that kick start careers: education, shared enthusiasm and the long-term personal contacts that often lead to opportunity further down the career path.
