Buying an airplane, like becoming a pilot in the first place, is all about the journey. Nobody ever shows up with checkbook in hand ready to make a purchase of an aircraft. Honestly, the process can involve a bewildering amount of homework, followed by the search for the exact right airplane - or as close to it as one can find - and only then the delicate dance of negotiating the price. Now the buyer owns the asset and must figure out the proper way to store it, maintain it, insure it and all the other details both large and small that go along with aircraft ownership.
