The approaching thunderstorm rumbled in the distance as I sat in the Land Rover and appraised the dingy, three-story concrete structure in front of me. As motels went, it would be one of the seedier I had ever stayed in, if they even had the 20 rooms we needed. It was the summer of 2004, and I was in the midst of a journey from Switzerland to Athens with the crew of a Skyship 600 airship that was going to provide security services for the Summer Olympics. Some minor maintenance issues and the approaching thunderstorms had stranded us in this little border town of Locarno, Switzerland, for the night, so we now had to find rooms for all 20 crewmem-bers. It was proving more difficult than we'd thought, and we were running out ofoptions.
