I have spent about a year, 8,760 hours, of my life flying the airplane that I have. I talk to it sometimes. They are usually words of endearment or thanks or partnership or occasionally apology. No, the airplane doesn't respond in English but when we are flying it does respond and send messages, as does any airplane to any pilot. The pilot who gets those responses and messages flies without many surprises. We might not always like what the airplane is telling us but it is important to remember that airplanes tell no lies. They communicate only the truth. Now that you are convinced that I am nuts, let's examine the subject in relation to when the airplane communicates by becoming totally or partially silent because of a lack of power. In this condition the airplane sends clear messages that had best be heeded.
