Tom Benenson and I both possess airplanes that are over 25 years old. Still, we have added enough bells and whistles to our airplanes for them to qualify as being technically advanced according to the current definition of that term. In that we are both flight instructors we give each other a flight review every two years, and that exercise has evolved into a probe of our ability to operate and explain the technically advanced part of our airplanes. So long as we get the airplanes up and down without event, the flying part is deemed okay.
