This past December, a replica of the Wright Brothers' Flyer was unable to fly at the appoint-ed time to duplicate the first powered airplane flight of Dec. 17, 1903. The cause: Not enough power to fly in the conditions Mother Nature dished up. It wasn't the Flyer's fault. Had the Wright brothers been at the centennial event, they would have told the world to come back when conditions were right. Although it was an anticlimactic end to the celebration, it was also a perfect example of the value of today's high-performance technology. Had the Wright Flyer had a Hartzell propeller, a RAM Aircraft engine upgrade or a LoPresti speed modification, the day would have gone as planned. Without today's quality products and maintenance, your aircraft too would suffer the replica Flyer's fate: Grounded when you're ready to go flying. To help you avoid this, we present our third Flying Smarter supplement that highlights just some of the products that keep you airborne.
