My wife and I were in lakeland to partake of Sun 'n Fun 2004. It was our first visit to the event. I was trying to recall some snippet of a landmark in a town I had lived and worked in 25 years before. I had been a Beech 99 copilot for a commuter airline back in the days when you could say "commuter airline." As we continued the drive toward the airport, my memory recall was failing. Frustrated, I was forced to torture my wife. I reminisced about those days. My first memory was of an event I like to call "The great cat escapade." The great cat escapade started at the end of a very long, multi-leg day on the Beech 99. The captain had brought the condition levers to cutoff after we had come to a stop on the ramp at Lakeland. It was a moonless night. As soon as the agent had opened the entry door, the thick, sultry air from outside the airplane invaded the cockpit.
