摘要

The best jets come from the best families, whether natural born or adopted. Two years ago Gulfstream made the Galaxy one of its own, renamed it the G200 and is passing on to it the family traits of the leader in large-cabin business jets. The G200 began life with the most prominent feature of the Gulfstream family―a big cabin. The Galaxy, developed and manufactured by Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) in the late 1990s, is the first of the so-called super-midsize business jets to enter service. The cabin has essentially the same cross-section size as that of the rest of the Gulfstream family, with six feet, three inches of headroom. The G200 has a dropped aisle instead of the flat floor of other Gulfstreams, but the overall diameter and useful cabin width is within a couple of inches of its big brothers, which have set the standard for cabin comfort since the Gulfstream I pioneered the whole idea of turbine-powered business airplanes in the 1950s.
