Chuck Wahl's Vought F4U-1 Corsair BuNo 02449, which features the rare 'bird cage' canopy, is making good progress in Cameron Park, California. The flap spars have been re-installed and the wing's centre section has had both upper and lower skins attached. Chuck reports that more than 2,000 spot welds were required to attach the cockpit section skins to the ribs. Now, the majority of the cockpit furnishings have been installed and the canopy completed.
