Former Argentine Air Force (FAA) Gloster Meteor Mk.IVC-084 was installed as the gate guardian at the Resistencia Air Base in Chaco Province on January 7. Acquired by the nation's air arm in May 1949 as 1-084, it was assigned to the Grupo 2 de Caza in Tandil, Buenos Aires. It was allocated a new serial, C-084, in the 1950s. After a long service, the jet was written-off on November 26,1970. It subsequently became a gate guardian at the Reconquista Air Base in Santa Fe Province, later moving 124 miles to Resistencia where, in 1975, it was placed on a pedestal outside the city's international airport.
