The only airworthy example of an original Bristol F.2B fighter in the UK is D8096, owned by the Shuttleworth Collection and based at Old Warden, in Bedfordshire. Built in 1918, it did not see service in World War One but was used by 208 Squadron in Turkey in 1923. After withdrawal from RAF service, it was acquired in 1936 by Capt C P B Ogilvie who stored it, along with many other aircraft, in Watford. Restored by Bristol after World War Two, D8096 flew again with the Shuttleworth Collection in February 1952. Save for a thorough refurbishment in the early 1980s, the Brisfit has rarely been out of the skies, and remains a star attraction at Old Warden's air displays. Only two other airworthy examples are extant - D7889 which resides at the Canada Air and Space Museum, and 08040 which belongs to film director Peter Jackson in New Zealand.
