Commemorations and flypasts were staged at North Weald airfield in Essex to mark the 70th anniversary of the arrival of two Norwegian Spitfire squadrons at the base in 1942. On September 7, veterans from the Royal Norwegian Air Force and other guests arrived in a Lockheed C-130 Hercules. They were followed by the Norwegian Air Force Historic Squadron's two DH Vampires, and two Lockheed-Martin F-16s from the current 331 and 332 Squadrons at Bod0. The veterans were joined by local schoolchildren, the chairman of Epping Forest District Council and other civic representatives.
