A memorial to Lockheed P-38 Lightning pilot Lt Donald Kuske was unveiled at Reischach, Germany, on June 13.rnExactly 66 years earlier, Donald was flying a 1st Fighter Group, 71st Fighter Squadron P-38J over Germany when both engines were damaged in combat. Narrowly avoiding a farmhouse, he crashed into a meadow at Reischach. Those living at the farmhouse believe they owe their lives to Donald's skillful flying.
