Fifty years old, still in service and showing no signsrnof slowing down. Designed from the outset as a cost-effective supersonic trainer, the Northrop T-38A Talon entered service with the USAF in March 1961. Over 400 are currently being upgraded as 'glass-cockpit' T-38Cs with the programme not far off completion. These machines have an indefinite life ahead of them, trainingrngeneration after generation of pilots.
