At the beginning of each year I take a look at the past three year's history of Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) food safety recalls to look for possible trends in food safety.rnThe numbers of reported incidents have increased steadily from 135, thenrn144, and finally to 172 from 2007 to 2009, respectively. If you then categorize the reasons for recalls as allergens, micro-bial, chemical and other hazards, some interesting trends emerge.
