Nitta has extended its range of thermoplastic polyurethane (PU) conveyor belts to include widths beyond three metres. Said to be "exceptionally resistant to grease and oils", the conveyor belts are particularly suited to bakery and confectionery chocolate products, but can also be used for a wide range of industrial applications. In conveying food products, the belt material must be chemically inert and there should be an option for fitting sealed edges, Nitta said. When it came to selecting the belt material, the food product must be clearly differentiated from the belt material to detect any possible contamination, the Japanese firm added.
