Vegan producer More Than Meat has launched what it claims is the UK's first vegan jerk burger. Made from a blend of plant-proteins, red kidney beans and spices, More Than Meat says the jerk burger is rich and spicy with thyme, lime juice and chilli flavours. Founder Barry Honeycombe decided to develop the jerk burger after spotting a gap in the meat-free convenience food sector. "Jerk burgers have a great flavour, which is rare to find in vegetarian or vegan convenience foods," he says. "We developed our burger to fill that gap and offer our customers a flavoursome and wholesome meat-free alternative that doesn't compromise on taste."
