In a first for Old South Foods, the bottler and co-packer switched to PET for its 16oz barbecue sauce formerly packed in glass decanters. The new bottles are supplied by Amcor Rigid Plastics. It is the first commercial adoption of Amcor's 16oz hot fill stock decanter - the company's latest hot fill stock package for foods sauces and dressings. The 38.4-g hot fill (up to 85℃) decanters have resulted in a major reduction in freight costs and significant reduction in breakage/damaged goods during manufacturing and in charge backs from retailers.
