The antimicrobial Pure Control, a silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC), has been approved by the FDA as a fresh produce processing aid. It may be used for direct application on produce to reduce food-borne pathogens. The solution is applied by spray or dip. SDC test results show consistent and materially significant reductions in pathogens most frequently traced to processed produce, including Salmonella, E. coli and Listeria. The company's SDC technology also was recently approved for use as a raw poultry processing aid.
