Imperial Sugar Co., Sugarland, Texas, and PureCircle Ltd., OakrnBrook, III., created a joint venture, Natural Sweet Ventures LLC, torndevelop reduced-calorie sweetener products for the food & beverage industry using a combination of sugar and stevia. Products will be in liquid and crystallized forms in a variety of calorie reduction levels, and they will be able to be labeled natural. Natural Sweet's products will be produced at Imperial's Port Wentworth, Ga., refinery and marketed across North America by the combined sales teams of Imperial and PureCircle.
