摘要

The concept of 'cushioning' has been proposed for footwear to reduce impact loading and prevent sports injuries during athletic activities for nearly 30 years (Clarke et al. 1983). Currently, a series of new paradigms about the effect of repetitive impact forces have been provided over the past decade (Nigg et al. 2001). As an input signal characterized by amplitude, frequency, and time, impact force initiates vibrations of the soft tissue compartments. The musculoskeletal system responds to this input signal by changing the mechanical properties of soft tissues in order to avoid resonance. This adaptation is considered to be done to minimize vibrations, prevent sports injuries, and improve performance (Boyer et al. 2007).
