ARE YOU SITTING DOWN? It turns out that Donald Trump's net worth—which a year ago he boasted was "in excess of $10 billion"—is in fact significantly lower: $3.5 billion, down more than 20% in 12 months, as our annual Billionaires issue (March 28) detailed. "President Trump's wealth is apparently going the way of his approval ratings," noted Jason Silverstein of New York's Daily News. The commander-in-tweet has quarreled with Forbes about this particular topic for decades, but this year he kept his social-media thumbs holstered. Washington Post political scribe Philip Bump observed that perhaps it's because you can't put a price on unequaled personal power. "Sitting in the White House, having proven all the haters wrong, Trump feels like he and his personal brand are worth a lot more than $10 billion," Bump wrote. "Even if those haters disagree."
