Jay Rosario learned the importance of customer service as a child working at his parents' delicatessen in New York City. Provide quality products at fair prices, they told him. Keep your inventory stocked. Treat your customers and employees with respect. Be a good neighbor. "My parents were immigrants, so it was important for them to do well in their business as they pursued the American Dream," said Rosario. "But it was even more important for them to support their customers and serve the community. If someone got into trouble, my father would provide whatever help he could, including food and even money. He didn't make a big deal about it. He just did what he could to help."
