Everybody likes a Twinkie, right? Steven Bertoni's May 4 cover story about the salvation of Hostess by Dean Metropoulos and Apollo Global's Andy Jhawar had tongues wagging (and drooling). The tale is high drama-strikes, implementation of efficiency measures and the rebirth of a snack-food icon-and reader opinions were... well, as homogenous as Twinkies themselves. "Love Hostess products, those 'preservative-packed calorie bombs with ingredients that read like a chemistry textbook,'" tweeted (in earnest!) Jennifer Gerholdt of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation, quoting Berto-ni. Breitbart's John Nolte gushed: "Loved this story. What unions destroyed, innovation & chemicals saved." And in a gesture as sweet as vanilla filling, Daren Metropoulos tweeted our cover image and "Proud of my Dad." Awww. Have a Twinkie on us!
