Maputo, the capital of Mozambique, is a flourishing metropolis that buzzes with the activity of traders, commuters and tourists. Nestled along the coast of East Africa, Maputo exemplifies the economic renaissance that is rapidly changing the face of the continent. Mozambique will soon celebrate its 21st anniversary of peace, and has embarked on a journey to build prosperity for its people and to take its place as a regional commerce and trade hub. Endowed with significant natural resources, Mozambique is keen to utilize its newly found wealth and become a regional superpower. Led by President Armando Emilio Guebuza, Mozambique has seen tremendous growth in recent years. Capital flows have increased, infrastructure projects are well under way, and exploration for resources is moving ahead.
