The 25-year-old Canadian has carried on where Zipcar left off. Instead of easy car rentals, her San Francisco-based startup, Getaround, allows peer-to-peer car sharing. She'd noted that the average driver only used his or her car 8% of the time, leaving it idle-often in pricey parking. Now, with a smartphone app, those stuck on foot can rent a set of wheels by the hour from people in the neighborhood. In 2009 Scorpio was a member of the first graduate class of Singularity University, the alternative Silicon Valley school started by space entrepreneur Peter Diamandis.
