In creating our Celebrity 100 list we crunch figures about everything from salaries and endorsement deals to press mentions and Twitter followers. One bit of data jumps out: earnings by gender. Sixty-seven of the 100 people on our list are men, and they pull in 73% of the total earnings, with the average male making $14.5 million more than his female counterparts. Remove Lady Gaga and Oprah Winfrey from the mix and the pay gap jumps to $24.5 million. When it comes to pay inequality, there are few businesses like show business-even at the top.
