Keeping your poise and staying focused on a goal during pressure cooker situations is at the heart of success in both athletics and investing. You can learn a lot about investing during tur bulent times from watching great athletes perform in the clutch. A perfect example from this year's World Series is David Freese, third baseman for the champion St Louis Cardinals and MVP for the series. Freese's fielding error gave the Texas Rangers the lead in the fifth inning of an elimination game six. In the ninth Freese put the error behind him, tied the game with a triple and won it in the 11th with a home run. This forced a seventh game that the Cardinals won.
