Thirty-four thousand people from 200 countries competed for "The Best Job in the World." The winner, announced in May, got $111,000 and a six-month contract to serve as caretaker of a tropical Australian island while writing a blog to promote the area. The contest wasrnsponsored by Queensland's tourism bureau, yet the biggest winner may not be the state or the caretaker but Robert Oatley, the island's owner.
