For the past five years i have been a big propo-nent of Canadian royalty trusts-those high-yielding trusts from north of the border that tend to focus on production and transportation of oil and natural gas. I still hold these, but declining payouts and increased Canadian taxation of these investment vehicles have made investing in their U.S. cousins an attractive alternative. I'm talking about publicly traded partnerships and limited liability corporations known as master limited partnerships.
