Any organization that plans to merge voice communications with its data network had better make sure that it has thoroughly evaluated the need for upgrading the existing infrastructure to support the high "quality of service" that voice over IP requires. Considering the stakes, the VoIP system provider must be a partner in the truest sense of the word — not just a supplier of equipment — but a full-service provider that will be involved from the earliest planning stages through implementation and beyond.
