It isn't quite a case of enronitis or WorldCom syndrome. But the books at Measurement Specialties seem to have a definite touch of something. The Fairfield, N.J. maker of electronic sensors, scales and tire gauges appeared to be doing everything right. For the first quarter of fiscal 2002 (ended June 30,2001) earnings per share were up 7% over the comparable period in fiscal 2001 and sales rose 59%. Last October Measurement ranked number three among the Forbes 200 Best Small Companies.
