There's a lot of loose talk about "talent" these days. Makes sense, of course. In the age of Yahoo, Cisco, and the rest of the companies on this year's Dynamic 100 list, talent is the alpha, the omega...and everything in between. So, what is this t-a-1-e-n-t? We "know it" on the baseball diamond, at the theater, and at a designer's runway show. Talent presides in those settings. (It's a given.) But until recently we haven't used the t-word when referring to the finance or purchasing departments or to human resources or even to the IS division.
