I won $1,046 LAST year, and unfortunately have the records to prove it. They show 1998 gambling wins aggregating $3,068, mainly because of above-average performance in a poker game that has been taking place every month since 1980 on my dining room table. The wins were partially offset by losses of $2,022, mostly from dumb wagers of the off-track-betting persuasion. The balance is taxable income.
